South Africa Safari

In January of 2020, I had the opportunity to go on my first Safari. It was an amazing experience to be in such a vast environment with such a large variety of animals. Of course seeing the ‘big five’ is great, but seeing the birds that thrive there was wonderful too.

Our first stop was in Pilanesberg where we stayed at the Ivory Tree Lodge. This was our first base camp and we did two daily game drives, one before dawn and another about 3 PM.

I then flew to Nelspruit, from Johannesburg and met our driver who took us to Kruger National Park. Again, we did two daily game drives as before. Kruger is the size of Israel, so you can imagine how vast it is… or maybe not. I know I was continually in awe at the views and the quiet. I’m still going through thousands of images and will post a gallery here soon.
